We’re over 65% leased upstairs!! Only 2 two-bedroom apartments left, and only a handful of one-bedrooms. Downstairs, all four retailers are open and doing great. Alterra is THE place to be in Shorewood. Thief has incredible wine - 32 of them available by the glass before you take a case home. North Star keeps rocking and has incredible lunches and a terrific brunch (if you haven’t tried them already). Boutique B’lou has beautiful fashion ready for the ladies.

Last week represented an incredible milestone: North Star Bistro opened for business! The new space is spectacular, and the food and service are better than ever. With a terrific bar, you can sit with friends, catch the game or just relax with a great meal or a cocktail. The restaurant is comfortable and inspiring and the family room lets parents eat a great meal in a cool room without worrying about the kids.
In addition to North Star opening, we now have a furnished model. Give us a call and come and see the community’s first new construction luxury apartments. We can’t wait to see you at The Cornerstone!
Now we’re really moving! Not only is the building really coming together, but our retailers have built some real momentum. Alterra, North Star American Bistro, Thief and Boutique B’lou are feverishly building out their spaces.
In the next month, the progress will be incredible. North Star will be ready to move across the street and open in their incredible new space. Thief will be getting ready to open the best wine bar in Milwaukee. And for the balance of the building the masonry will continue to go up, and the building will start to take on its full character.
Upstairs, we’ve started drywall and will have a model apartment ready in a couple of weeks so people can come and see the dynamic spaces and luxury appointments that define The Cornerstone apartments.

We’re thrilled that the Public Policy Forum is recognizing Whitefish Bay and Shorewood for their terrific cooperative efforts to facilitate our development here at The Cornerstone. On June 17, at the annual award presentation, Whitefish Bay and Shorewood will receive the award for Intergovernmental Cooperation.
In addition to all the hurdles presented by the economic downturn, the site for The Cornerstone originally straddled the municipal boundary between the two Villages. In a show of unprecedented cooperation, we negotiated a re-drawing of the municipal boundary so as to facilitate the development.
Now, both Villages and the residents in the immediate neighborhood will be able to enjoy the community we’re building here. We couldn’t have gotten here without the dedication of the members of each community’s elected and appointed boards and commissions and the tireless efforts of the Village Managers.
May 18 and things are flying along at The Cornerstone. The third floor is being framed as I type, and we’ve signed our first apartment leases! In just 30 days we’ll turn spaces over to our retailers so they can start their build-out. Everything points to a VERY festive Labor Day week-end.
We’re also starting to lease space across the street at Ravenna. We have 7,500 square feet of incredible new construction retail space available. Come join the community that now includes Alterra, Thief Wine, Boutique B’lou and North Star Bistro. This will be the place to be for North Shore retail.
